Ot calibration aiming panel.

Ot2 plumb line.

Use a diagnosis equipment.

Depending on the models, two different calibration processes are used.

1 adjustment method / calibration in 1 step.

  • Process achieved with 1 static aiming panel.

2 adjustment method / calibration in 3 step.

  • Sequential method : the static aiming panel is displaced on the ground.

Standard procedure :
  • Static calibration / calibration in 3 step.
Method(s) :

1 prerequisites.

  • Proper tyre pressure.
  • Empty (unloaded) vehicle.
  • Fuel tank full.

2 wheel alignment in proper order.

  • Check that no alignment or drive train defects are reported.
  • Abnormal wear and tear of the tires.
  • No slipping occuring in the vehicle's trajectory.
  • Steering wheel aligned for straight line driving.

3 place the vehicle in front of the calibration's aiming panel Ot.

  • Measure the vehicle's width.
  • Affix vertical strips 1 / 2, in order to draw reference points x1 x4 on the ground.
  • Do a projection of the center point x1 x4 on the ground with a plumb line Ot2.
  • Draw a line on the ground in the reference axis x1x4 in order to align the aiming panel Ot.
  • Draw a straight line x3 , perpendicular to the axis x1x2, located approximately c from the ground projection of the point x1.

Nota :

c distance between the point x1 and the ground position B of the aiming panel.

  • c distance 1316 mm.

  • Draw the point B at the cross between axis x1x2 and x3.
  • Draw on each side repectively the points C D at a given distance b.
  • b 550 mm distance.
Nota :

b floor distance between the aiming panels locations B C/D.

  • Place the aiming panel Ot at the point B.
  • Align the vehicle axis x1x2 in the axis of the aiming panel Ot.
  • Adjust / center height of the aiming panel a Ot.
Nota :

Distance a between the ground and the aiming panel center Ot.

  • a distance 1350 mm.

Behind the aiming panel, place a white or pale background.

Method(s) -> ...cont.:

4 use a diagnosis equipment.

  • Step 1.
  • Observe the distances A between the vehicle and the aiming panel Ot -> camera Cam.
  • A distance 3000 mm.
  • Step 2 -> reset.
  • -> use a diagnosis equipment / display the " -> " menu.
  • Chassis / Front Recognition Camera / utility / Recognition Camera / Target Position Memory.

5 key-in the data of the calibration distances in the diagnosis equipment.

Nota :

According to the assist options handled by the front camera, the following parameters will require key-in at each step.

  • Chassis code -> see vehicle I.D. plate.
  • Height of the camera 1288 mm.
  • Side setting of the camera 7 mm.
  • Yaw rate angle 0 ° Deg.
  • Inclination angle -2,42 ° Deg.
  • Center height of the aiming panel 1350 mm.
  • Distance between aiming panel and camera 3000 mm.
  • Interval between the aiming panel patterns 550 mm.
  • Height of aiming panel patterns 180 mm.
  • Vehicle's width 1832 mm.
  • Distance between center axis of the rims and camera 735 mm.
  • Height variation angle 0 ° Deg.
  • Distance between radar and camera 1625 mm.

6 calibration in 3 step.

  • Use a diagnosis equipment / display the " -> " menu.
  • Chassis / Front Recognition Camera / utility / Recognition Camera Axis Adjust.

During the sequential learning in 3 time.

  • Move the aiming panel between the locations 1 2 -> C 3 -> D at each validation step by the calibration equipment.

7 make a roadtest.

gasket cut

Because of the fastening shims Ca, the seal cutting - with a cutting wire Fl - should follow the pattern shown.

particular instruction

The glass is serigraphied with reference marks on the ceramic Cy to align properly the position shims (endstops) Caf during the set-up procedure.

Set-up the upper endstops Cas on the rebate Fe.

Apply a light layer of glass primer Cr on the windscreen flank.

a2 distance 82 mm.

b2 distance from the edge 24 mm.

Bond the endstops Caf as shown between the marks Cy on the windscreen / right side / left side.

a distance from the edge 14 mm.

b spacing from the center marking on the ceramic strip Cy 40 mm.

particular instruction

Standard version :

Using some primer, bond the upper profile Pm on the windscreen prior to the windscreen bonding.

  • c distance from the edge 7 mm.

specific windscreen bonding

Use a primer on the ceramic Cr prior to bonding.

Cr width 18 mm.

Place a spacer tape on the perimeter Bs of the windscreen Pb.

Bs length / full refill quantity (L) 295 cm.

Bond and align the axis of the perimetric spacer Bs on the lower part of the windscreen, following the reference line C shown on the glass.

Markings Rp are serigraphied on the glass, in order to align the ends of the spacer tape Bs.

Stick :
  • The profile Pm2 fastening the waterbox cover.
Nota :

Align the marks Rp2.

Adjust the windscreen Pb clearance a / lower border profile Pm2.

a width 0,6 mm.

Bond setting :

Place the bond seal Jc close to the spacer tape Bs, as shown.

specific windscreen bonding

The area Jc where the glue bead is applied is delivered not being previously pasted, neither by an undercoat nor by a glass-primer.

The serigraphied area Cr where the glue bead is to be applied should be at first coated with primer.

specific windscreen bonding

According to the mounting :

The windscreen is serigraphied with a central line X upon the perimeter of the edge.

Apply the bond seal Jc upon the serigraphied points of the reference bonding line X.

Distance from the edge :

a width 8 mm.

b width 8 mm.

c width 11 mm.

d width 9 mm.

In order to intertwine the seal at the end of the perimeter, apply a double bonding.

d2 width 19 mm.

Nota :

The bond seal Jc should superimpose and gently overlay the profile Pm in order to allow its adherence when put in its place.

specific windscreen bonding

Glue bead: cross section > bevel.

a width 8 mm.

b height 12 - 14 mm.

In order to intertwine the seal at the end of the perimeter, apply a double bonding.
